WHAT'S PWN
PWN.XYZ is a Czech Republic based start-up changing borrowing and lending in DeFi, it's a peer-to-peer universal lending platform in which you can use any token as collateral, invest in fixed-interest loans, and enjoy predictable returns, without the risk of price-based liquidations.
MISSION

DURATION

CHALLENGE
PWN needed a visual overhaul to better communicate its decentralized, peer-to-peer nature while staying true to its existing identity. The previous designer had laid a strong foundation with branding, but I was primarily handed a mood board, a logo and an old app UI when I joined the team.
APPROACH
I started by examining the current design. I noted its main aesthetic was: techy, futuristic, minimalist, brutalist. Then I worked to widen the visual style while keeping its original spirit.
I added more colors to the app UI during my time at PWN which gave me more flexibility for the branding. I also made necessary marketing items such as announcement videos, posts, backgrounds, icons, emojis and POAPs.
A major change was to firm up core style choices. I set a clear visual plan that used hands, 3D objects and faceless figures as main parts of the story and brand message. Overall it fit the aesthetic well and underlying DAO principles well.
I worked with the marketing and co-founders to match the brand's vision and objectives. At the end I made the full brand kit, which forms a clear basis for later design and marketing efforts.

BEHIND THE SCENES
Enjoy some snippets of my workflow.
CONCLUSION
After receiving approval from the founders and marketing team I got a go ahead to continue with the updated visuals and aesthetic, it gave us lot of room to also be playful and play on existing trends in DeFi and social media.
ALCOR
UI/UX

Revamp the existing trading UI for the biggest exchange running on the EOS blockchain.
FIGMA
WHAT'S ALCOR
Alcor Exchange is a decentralized trading platform built on the EOS blockchain, offering swaps and spot trading with order books. It provides fast execution speeds, low fees, and complete on-chain transparency.
DURATION
1 Week
CHALLENGE
the previous user interface struggled to cater to professional traders which are more likely to use it compared to a swap widget. It lacked responsiveness, making it difficult to use on mobile. Essential trading tools, such as execution markers, active orders, and key market data were missing.
Non-Responsive Design: The interface is not optimized for mobile devices, making it nearly impossible for users to trade on the go.
Lack of Critical Tools: Essential features like displaying where orders were placed or executed and comprehensive market information are missing.

No Customization Options: Users can't personalize their experience with features like favorites, theme preferences or changing the language (a large majority of our users in 2022 were from China, Ukraine, Philippines and Russia)
Inadequate Data Presentation: The order book is difficult to interpret, and large orders lack visual representation.
APPROACH
To make Alcor a serious contender in the DeFi trading space, the UI needed a full overhaul.
COMPETITOR ANALYSIS & USER FEEDBACK
To understand how to improve Alcor’s UI, I analyzed leading exchanges like Binance and KuCoin, which are widely used by advanced traders. Since I've already used their products in the past I already knew what kind of features would have to be implemented. I've also gathered feedback directly from Alcor's Telegram group to see what users were missing.

DESKTOP IMPLEMENTATION
I then started working on individual components and how they should function.
Chart Enhancements – Orders and executions are now visible directly on the chart, along with a refined visual design.
Improved Order Management – Clearer buy/sell distinction, the ability to hide other markets from the table, cancel all at once, and view trade history.
Quick Market Access – A new markets menu accessible from the chart or the upper section of the times & sales window.
Depth Chart – A visual representation of orders for better at-a-glance insights.
Times & Sales – Now highlights significant trades for better market tracking.
Enhanced Orderbook – Automatically highlights large orders relative to others.
Refined Order Entry – More emphasis on the swap rate, clearer fee breakdown on hover, and manual percentage input.
Favorites Bar – A dedicated space for quick access to preferred markets.

Most of these components also include customization options to better suit advanced traders needs.

MOBILE IMPLEMENTATION
The goal is to maintain full functionality while introducing mobile-specific enhancements for better usability on smaller screens.
One key addition was the ability to completely collapse the chart, catering to users who prioritize quick order execution without unnecessary visual noise. This is especially useful for traders on the go who need a more streamlined interface.

CONCLUSION
Redesigning the Alcor Exchange order book was both a challenge and a lot of fun. It was all about taking user feedback and turning it into a smoother, more intuitive trading experience, making sure both casual users and pro traders had the tools they needed.
We've received a lot of praise over the upgrade and a big influx of volume shortly after, but correlation ≠ causation (;

WHAT'S DCxPRAGUE
DevConnectxPrague (DCxPrague) is an offshoot event of DevConnect 2023.
PERSONAL CONNECTION
Due to security concerns following the October 7th terrorist attack in Israel, many attendees, especially Jewish community members, felt uneasy about traveling to Istanbul. This uneasiness led to the formation of DCxPrague, offering an alternative gathering in Prague.
This event was particularly close to my heart. Given my heritage and my commitment to giving back to my community, I dedicated my personal time to ensuring its success.
DURATION
4 Days
CHALLENGE
To provide DCxPrague with branding, a website, and marketing assets, including:
A strong event identity
A website with all essential information
Visual assets for livestreams, Twitter announcements and speaker promotions
APPROACH
BRANDING & LOGO DESIGN
I started with the logo.
The design revolved around an 'X' symbol, both as a nod to the community members who couldn't go to Istanbul and as a strong visual mark that would stand out on flags and other branding materials. The final design featured a minimalistic outline, with the full event name in bold, all-caps typography.

APPROACH
WEBSITE DESIGN
The website needed to be simple yet informative, with a focus on:
Venues – Two different locations required clear navigation.
Schedule – A detailed breakdown of talks across both venues.
Speakers – Highlighting people and their sessions.
The process began with a basic landing page to handle ticket reservations and talk submissions. From there, I expanded the site to include:
A schedule page with day selection and speaker cards.
A speaker page showcasing all confirmed participants.

APPROACH
MARKETING & VISUAL ASSETS
Beyond the website, I designed promotional materials:
Speaker cards for Twitter.
A livestream overlay template.
Event projections for branding within the venues.

CONCLUSION

MARKETING & VISUAL ASSETS
Working on DCxPrague was an incredible experience, both personally and professionally. The event saw over 51 talks, including a surprise visit from Vitalik Buterin. The venues, Gram Cafe and the Lobkowicz Palace were exceptional, with the Lobkowicz family generously sharing their history and art with attendees.
The support from the Ethereum Foundation, which contributed to all the organizers, made the event even more special. By all metrics, DCxPrague was a resounding success, and I’m grateful to have played a part in making it happen.

WHAT'S BUILDINGBLOCKS

DURATION
2 Weeks
CHALLENGE
BuildingBlocks, a Tel Aviv-based conference for crypto startups, needed a cohesive set of marketing and event assets. This included speaker cards, an intro animation, avatars, merch designs, speaker presentation slides, and invites.
APPROACH
I began by receiving the logo and color palette from the organizers.

APPROACH
I explored the concept of "blocks" as a central design theme. I drew inspiration from the nostalgic PlayStation 2 intro, which led me to develop a dynamic animated sequence using Cinema 4D, After Effects and Fruity Loops, blending immersive visuals with custom sound design.
APPROACH
Next, I worked on the speaker images, carefully positioning each speaker within a structured layout. Some were highlighted with a magenta outline, while others featured a green outline.
I then designed the first slides for all speaker presentations, aligning them with the schedule provided by the organizers. Additionally, I created event bracelets to be distributed during the conference and a VIP dinner invitation design for an exclusive post-event gathering.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Enjoy some snippets of my workflow.
CONCLUSION
BuildingBlocks was an exciting project that allowed me to blend motion, branding, and event design into a unified experience. The event was a huge success, and as of now, the organizers are already planning the next edition in 2025.

Stepan Fau
Co-Founder, PWN
Or has exceeded expectations since day 1 when he stood out from all the applicants to the product designer role by creating a custom application not only showcasing his unique strengths in the best way imaginable, but also by going “straight to action” and suggesting several improvements to the app interface as well as our homepage, which clearly demonstrated that he’s willing to do his homework.
This impression lasted throughout his whole engagement with PWN, during which Or also showcased his proactivity and ability to think about problems on the most fundamental level in order to design ingenious solutions and find ways to get them in front of customers in as short a time as possible.
Though a product designer at heart, he was always willing to take a step outside of his “box” and to help out wherever needed, be it marketing activities or conference organisation.
Or’s level-headedness and warm personality brought much needed stability to our dynamic startup environment, allowing teammates to feel at home and to focus on work at hand.
10/10 would build a startup with and go for a non-alcoholic drink afterwards.
I’m happy to elaborate further, though I believe Or’s actions speak much louder than my words.

Josef Je
Co-Founder, PWN
Or amazed us in the early days of PWN with his excellently targeted case study on our company design, making it a no-brainer to bring him on board. He has since redesigned the entire platform, taking on increasingly challenging tasks over the years, eventually becoming the team's product designer and manager. I think Or understands the crypto-oriented appeal and effectively manifests brand values in the visual identity.

Christopher Lecusay
Founder, Edge to Trade
Working with Or when I was first launching EdgeToTrade was... invaluable. His ability to not only ask the right questions but also guide me through the design process was instrumental in shaping the platform. He seamlessly incorporated user experience feedback and structured a clear design flow that enhanced usability for all of my users. Beyond his technical skills, Or rocks, consistently bringing fresh ideas to the table that I hadn’t considered. His attention to detail and design consistency were noticeable, and he was a pleasure to work with. If you’re looking for a designer who is reliable, innovative and is a critical thinker, I highly recommend Or!
